I searched for the biggest carry on bag that I could find and came across this item. I bought this for an eleven day walking/hiking trip in Spain. It was perfect! More than enough room for three pairs of shorts, ten t-shirts, three blouses, two skirts, one dress, one sweater, twelve pairs of underwear, ten pairs of socks, slippers and various toiletries. I was amazed at how much it could hold. Everything was folded; I do not like rolling my clothes. I even bought those "space saver" bags, but wound up not needing them. I used it as both the duffle and as the wheeled upright. The bag can extend another 2.5 inches if needed. However, I never had the need to use the extension. Be aware the bag fit perfectly in the overhead without the extension engaged. (I flew Delta) It might be a tight squeeze with another 2.5 inched added.
Now that I've taken my first trip with just carry-on, I will never go back to checking baggage. It is wonderful to just grab your bag and go! No more standing and staring (and hoping that your bag arrives) at the baggage carousel. Now the only holdup is how long it takes to actually get off gosh darn the plane.

This bag is perfect! Allows for a lot of stuff to be packed, easily accesible, and built like a tank.
